About Freedom for Immigrants’ 2026 Annual Appeal
Our Community Faces Unprecedented Attacks,
And Still We Rise
Since the start of this administration, we’ve witnessed the rapid expansion of authoritarian power: militarized immigration enforcement on our streets, rights to due process and free speech stripped away, and unprecedented growth of immigration detention.
Across the country, our team is hitting the ground daily, not only to block the harmful policies of today, but to make tangible strides toward our vision of collective liberation, community care, and human dignity for all.
We are in this struggle for the long haul, anchored by our vision of Black liberation and guided by the leadership of currently and formerly detained immigrants. We confront the systems and narratives of criminalization that uphold the white supremacist legacy of xenophobia and the prison-industrial complex across the U.S.
But we can’t do this work alone. Your generosity sustains us, and the success of our Annual Appeal campaign in this moment of extraordinary need will directly affect the reach of critical resources to impacted communities, like the National Immigration Detention Hotline.
Reaching our $500,000 goal will help sustain and grow our work to meet the increasing needs of our community
Your support is critical to ensuring we’re equipped to advance the key initiatives outlined in Year Two of our three-year Strategic Plan:
We’re hard at work distributing critical pro se legal materials and medical one-pagers to people inside so that they can better navigate and survive their time in detention.
We’re addressing the criminalization of BIPOC people by expanding our Project Keep Away helpline and in-person programming to disrupt the prison-to-ICE pipeline.
We’re holding Know Your Rights trainings for community members caged in prisons or facing jail time with immigration consequences.
We’re re-launching our IMMPrint storytelling publication, which serves as a vital platform for people inside detention to express themselves and share resources.
We’re launching our new and improved National Immigration Detention Map to provide crucial information and resources to detained people and organizers across the country.
We’re implementing our new Resource Mobilization Team, which will spend countless hours providing direct support to people in detention.
Finally, we’re strengthening our staff so that we are able to sustain ourselves and keep up with the increasing needs of our community.
Meeting the Moment: Measuring Our Impact and the Road Ahead
Building on our progress from Year 1 of our Strategic Plan, we’re working to expand new programming from the ground up and deepen our impact, all while staying responsive to the growing needs of the record-high number of people now in immigration detention. Below is a snapshot of recent impact and a glimpse of what lies ahead. All data and figures represent July 2024-June 2025.
